Maria & Josh
There’s a few things Josh & Maria did on their wedding day to make the most out of their time and photos.
Maria was ready with hair and makeup when I arrived. This meant we could capture those hair and makeup shots during Maria’s final touchups once she was nearly ready and just before she got into her dress. Heather (Maria’s hair and makeup artist) was set up in a tidy dining room in front of the large patio doors for great lighting.
Maria had all her details (veil, shoes, perfume, jewellery etc.) ready for me, including added props like ribbon in her wedding colours.
She also had all her details ready in her front room, which was tidy and beautifully furnished. This was the room we used for most of Maria’s shots getting ready into her dress, veil and portraits. It was well lit with natural window light and no clutter, making it easy to get those clean beautiful shots.
Because Maria was ready when I arrived, we had plenty of time for photos with no feeling of being rushed. She was able to have photos with her bridesmaids drinking champagne, gift giving and photos with her parents. There was also some time to get some stunning portraits of Maria before she left for the ceremony.
They chose a venue with beautiful grounds so we were able to get their couple’s portraits close by with stunning backdrops, which saved them so much time, allowing them to enjoy time with their guests.
They had champagne to spray which makes for really fun natural photos. Nothing expensive is needed for this, I would recommend this one from Aldi, the green and gold bottle looks like a nice champagne bottle and it sprays really well!

They allowed some time before the party kicked off to head upstairs to their room for a quick outfit change. They invited me with them to get some stunning shots of them helping each other to get ready together, as well as some epic flash portraits too!
Finally… embrace it and enjoy it!!
